At Pendleton Orthodontics, we understand that the idea of braces might feel a little overwhelming. That’s why we use the latest technology to make your experience as comfortable, efficient, and personalized as possible.
Dr. Ryan Pendleton and our team use state of the art braces to help with everything from simple spacing to complex bite alignment. Whether you're looking for a reliable classic or something with a bit more flair, we’re here to help you find the right option.
Braces Options
Braces have come a long way! Today’s brackets are smaller, sleeker, and much more comfortable than they used to be. At our Leander office, you can choose the style that matches your personality:
- Traditional Metal Braces: These are made of high-quality, nickel-free stainless steel. They are incredibly durable and remain a top choice for patients of all ages because they work so well.
- Gold Braces: If you want a look that’s a bit more unique than silver, these brackets are a beautiful alternative.
- Clear Braces: LightForce braces are smaller than ever and made of nearly invisible tooth-colored polycrystalline ceramic material, designed to match the natural shade of your teeth. This makes them a more discreet option for those who want their braces to be less noticeable.
- Self-Ligating Braces: Damon metal braces use a specialized clip instead of elastic ties to hold the wire. This can make adjustment appointments shorter.
Why Choose Braces
While we offer many ways to straighten teeth, braces are a tried-and-true favorite for a few reasons:
- They Stay Put: Since braces are fixed to your teeth, you don’t have to worry about losing a removable aligner or forgetting to wear them. They are advancing your treatment around the clock..
- Great for Complex Goals: Braces are excellent at closing gaps and fixing complex bite issues, sometimes even faster than other treatments.
- Personalized Touch: You can choose different colored bands at every visit to show off your style or or keep your look neutral and discreet — it’s entirely up to you.
Braces Reviews
Dr. Pendleton is amazing. He is currently treating two of my three sons with braces, one also having been treated with an expander to create more room and it's so smooth. He's wonderful with them, very personable and easy to be around, my boys love seeing him. His office staff is super friendly, very knowledgable, and always willing to work with me on appointment times and communication. Would recommend to anyone needing an orthodontist for their kiddo, or even themselves!
Dr. Ryan is so patient. Even though I struggled wearing Invisalign as prescribed, he continued working with me to make sure that we still got the outcome of a healthy and straight smile. Everyone in his office is so kind. They are responsive, attentive, and accommodating. Dr. Ryan also did the braces for my son and it was a great experience all around. I’d highly recommend his office. Thanks for everything, Dr. Ryan and team.
We think Ryan and his team are simply phenomenal! They layout options for treatment plans/costs with clarity, support you in planning the right time for you (followup but no pressure) and colaborate wonderfully with our dentist. We’ve had 2 Invisalign, 2 expanders & will have 2-3 more in for braces over the next 5 years. We love that they are community focused and treat you like family!
Dr. Ryan and his staff have been amazing during our sons 4 year plan of braces, retainers, etc. Certainly will recommend them to everyone we know and if needed, our daughter will go too!
Dr Ryan and staff did a great job helping me straighten out my teeth. My teeth was a challenge and I committed to doing Invisalign. I’m so glad I did! Dr Ryan was patient and always addressed my concerns. The whole was staff always friendly and professional. Dr Ryan also straightened my daughter’s teeth with braces a couple years back. He did such a great job that I felt confident that I too can commit. So happy I did! Grateful for the Pendleton team.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do Braces Hurt?
We want you to feel comfortable throughout your treatment. You might feel some "snugness" or pressure for a day or two after we adjust your wires, but your mouth will adjust quickly. Over-the-counter pain relievers or a little orthodontic wax usually help with any initial tenderness.
How long will braces treatment take?
Treatment time varies for each patient. While many patients finish their treatment in about 12 to 24 months, Dr. Pendleton will give you a specific estimate during your free consultation. After you’ve finished treatment, we’ll get you set up with the right retainer for your lifestyle, helping preserve your smile for life.
Are there foods I can't eat?
We’ll coach you on everything you need to know. Generally, you’ll just want to avoid very sticky foods (like taffy) or very hard foods (like ice or whole apples) that could loosen a bracket. Most of your favorites are still on the menu!
